Contraceptive Implant

The implant is a small, soft piece of plastic placed under the skin in a woman’s upper arm containing the hormone called progestogen. The implant works by stopping your ovaries from releasing an egg.

HOW EFFECTIVE IS THE IMPLANT?

The implant is more than 99% effective (this means that each year less than one woman in a 100 will get pregnant using this method to prevent pregnancy).
