Gender Identity
Highland Sexual Health offers an adult Gender Identity service which includes assessment and access, if required, to medical intervention in relation to gender dysphoria. A GP referral is required to access this service and currently within Highland you must be aged 17 or over to be referred, with a view to being seen when you are 18. Anyone under 17, can be referred to the Young Persons Service at Sandyford Glasgow
Although every patient’s gender journey will be different, please see this factsheet that could answer some questions you may have about our service.
Our current estimated waiting time for a new patient appointment is: 7 months
